The Project

Mrs Thisleton contacted us to enhance the front of her property in Eltham. The existing driveway and entrance area had become worn and uninviting, with uneven surfaces and outdated materials. She wanted a complete redesign that would improve accessibility, create a welcoming first impression, and add long-term value to her home.

Our Recommendation

Following a full site survey, we recommended installing a resin bound driveway complemented by new brick walls and steps. The resin bound surface would provide a smooth, modern finish that is durable, low-maintenance, and fully permeable — allowing rainwater to drain naturally without pooling.

The addition of new walls and steps would not only improve access to the property but also enhance structure, safety, and appearance. Using high-quality materials and a design that complemented the home’s character, these features would give the entrance a clean and elegant look.

As with all our projects, we advised a complete excavation and preparation of a Type 1 MOT hardcore sub-base, compacted to ensure long-term strength and stability.

The Installation

Our team began by excavating the old driveway and removing all waste materials. We then installed a solid MOT Type 1 sub-base, machine-compacted to form a reliable foundation for the new surfaces.

Next, the brick walls and steps were built with precision, ensuring clean lines and a sturdy structure. The walls were carefully aligned to complement the property, while the new steps provided safe and comfortable access.

Once the structural work was complete, we laid the resin bound driveway. An open-texture base layer was applied first to ensure permeability, followed by the UV-stable resin and aggregate mix. The resin was hand-trowelled to a smooth, even finish, creating a seamless, attractive surface that will remain resistant to cracking and fading.

After all works were completed, the area was fully tidied, leaving the property neat and ready to enjoy.

The Result

In just four days, the front of Mrs Thisleton’s property in Eltham was completely transformed. The combination of a resin bound driveway, new walls, and steps has created a stylish and functional entrance that blends perfectly with the character of the home.

The finished project offers long-lasting durability, excellent drainage, and a polished look that enhances kerb appeal. Mrs Thisleton was delighted with the result and praised the team for their professionalism, attention to detail, and high-quality workmanship.
