Location: Brixton
Timescale: 5 Days
Service Provided: Porcelain Tiled Patio/Steps & Block Paving Driveway

The Project

Mrs Pusey approached Crown Paving to improve both the front and rear outdoor areas of her property in Brixton. The project involved creating a new porcelain tiled patio and steps, together with the installation of a block paving driveway.

With several different elements forming part of the project, it was important that the finished areas complemented the property while also providing practical, durable surfaces suitable for everyday use. The work needed to be carefully planned to ensure each stage could be completed efficiently within the agreed five-day timescale.

Our Recommendation

After assessing the property and discussing the requirements with Mrs Pusey, we recommended porcelain paving for the patio and steps, combined with block paving for the driveway.

Porcelain was an excellent choice for the garden area, providing a smart, contemporary finish while creating a durable and low-maintenance outdoor surface. Using the same porcelain across the patio and steps would also create a consistent appearance and a natural transition between the different levels.

For the driveway, we recommended block paving to provide a strong, attractive and practical surface designed to cope with regular vehicle and pedestrian use. Careful preparation of the foundations and attention to levels and drainage would be essential to achieving a high-quality, long-lasting result.

The Installation

Our team began by preparing the different areas of the property and completing the necessary groundwork. The foundations were carefully constructed to provide stable bases for both the porcelain paving and block paved driveway, with particular attention given to levels and effective drainage.

The porcelain tiles were then precisely laid across the patio area and incorporated into the new steps, creating a clean and consistent finish. Attention to alignment and detailing ensured the steps became an integral part of the overall patio design rather than appearing as a separate feature.

The block paving driveway was also installed with care, ensuring consistent lines and a neat finish throughout. With several different aspects of the project being completed simultaneously, our experienced team carefully coordinated the work to ensure everything was finished within the agreed five-day timeframe.

The Result

The completed project has transformed both the front and rear of Mrs Pusey’s Brixton property. The porcelain tiled patio and steps provide a stylish and practical garden space, while the new block paving driveway has significantly improved the appearance and functionality of the front of the property.

Completing the patio, steps and driveway together has created a high-quality finish throughout the exterior of the home, with each area designed to provide many years of use.

Mrs Pusey was extremely pleased with the finished project, awarding Crown Paving a 5-star Google review and commenting:

“Workmanship top-class no complaints highly recommend.”

We were delighted with the finished transformation and particularly pleased to receive such positive feedback on the quality of our workmanship.
