The Project

Mr and Mrs Adkins contacted us to improve the frontage of their property in Bromley. Their existing driveway and boundary area had become dated and no longer complemented the appearance of their home. They wanted a practical, hard-wearing driveway solution that would also include smart detailing and improved structure to enhance kerb appeal.

Our Recommendation

Following a full site assessment, we recommended installing a new tarmac driveway with a block-paved border and a new wall. Tarmac is a durable and cost-effective surface, ideal for regular vehicle use, while block paving provides an attractive contrast and helps define the driveway edges.

To complete the look and add structure to the frontage, we advised building a new wall to frame the area neatly and improve both appearance and boundary definition. As with all our projects, we specified full excavation and the installation of a Type 1 MOT hardcore sub-base, machine-compacted to ensure strength, stability, and longevity.

The Installation

The project began with the excavation of the existing driveway and the removal of all waste materials. A solid Type 1 MOT sub-base was then installed and compacted in layers to form a strong foundation.

Once the groundwork was complete, we laid the tarmac driveway, ensuring a smooth, even finish throughout. The block-paved border was then installed with care, creating a clean, decorative edge that enhanced the overall appearance of the driveway.

Alongside the driveway works, we constructed the new wall, using quality materials and precise workmanship to achieve a neat, durable finish that complemented the property. The site was then thoroughly cleaned, leaving the area tidy and ready for use.

The Result

In just four days, the front of Mr and Mrs Adkins’ home in Bromley was transformed. The new tarmac driveway provides a strong, low-maintenance surface, while the block-paved border adds visual interest and definition. The addition of the new wall completes the look, giving the property a smart and well-structured entrance.
