The Project
Mr Foster, based in Eltham, approached us with a clear challenge. His existing raised patio had been poorly installed, resulting in blown brickwork and dangerously uneven steps that had become a safety concern. As the Head of Business Development at London Stone Paving Ltd, he had access to the very best in paving materials—but needed a team he could trust to carry out a professional installation that matched the high quality of the product.

The goal was to transform a tired and unsafe area into a refined outdoor living space that could be enjoyed all year round, while also ensuring the work would stand the test of time.

Our Recommendation
Following a detailed site assessment, we recommended a complete rebuild of the existing raised patio. This included safely removing the damaged brickwork, correcting the base structure, and rebuilding the steps to ensure proper alignment, durability and safety.

Given the premium materials supplied—London Stone paving slabs—it was essential to create a stable foundation and carry out a meticulous installation to bring out the full aesthetic and performance benefits of the stone.

We advised a phased approach over a 5-day schedule to allow for proper setting and finishing at every stage, ensuring a long-lasting, top-quality result.

The Installation
Our team began by carefully dismantling the existing patio and removing all compromised materials. We rebuilt the substructure using best practices to ensure strength and stability, particularly around the steps, which required careful levelling and reinforcement.

The London Stone slabs were then expertly laid, with precise cutting, alignment and jointing to ensure a flawless finish. Throughout the process, we maintained a clean and organised worksite, ensuring minimal disruption to the client’s property.

At the end of the project, a full clean-down was carried out at both the front and rear of the property, leaving nothing behind but a beautifully finished patio ready to be enjoyed.

The Result
The transformation was outstanding. What had once been an unsafe and unattractive area is now a beautiful outdoor space, finished to the highest of standards. The raised patio, now fully secure and elegantly designed, offers both visual appeal and everyday practicality. The rebuilt steps provide safe, confident access to the lower garden.
