The Project

Mr and Mrs Weston contacted us to upgrade the front of their property in Bromley. Their existing driveway had become tired and uneven over time, and the boundary walls were no longer in keeping with the look they wanted to achieve. They were looking for a complete transformation that would improve both the practicality and appearance of their home’s entrance.

Our Recommendation

After carrying out a detailed site survey, we recommended installing a new block paved driveway along with the construction of new boundary walls. Block paving is a highly durable and versatile option, offering a clean, structured finish that can withstand daily vehicle use while remaining easy to maintain.

To ensure long-term performance, we specified a full excavation of the existing surface, followed by the installation of a Type 1 MOT hardcore sub-base, compacted in layers to create a strong and stable foundation. The addition of new walls would provide improved definition, privacy and a more refined overall appearance, helping to frame the new driveway perfectly.

The Installation

The project began with the removal of the old driveway and boundary features, clearing the area ready for groundwork. A solid Type 1 MOT sub-base was then laid and machine-compacted to guarantee stability and proper load-bearing strength.

Once the base was complete, a sharp sand bedding layer was prepared and levelled with precision. The new block paving was then laid in the agreed pattern, with each block carefully aligned to achieve a neat and uniform finish. Kiln-dried sand was brushed into the joints and the surface was compacted to lock everything securely into place.

At the same time, we constructed the new walls, using quality materials and precise brickwork to create straight, clean lines that complemented the property. The walls provided structure and definition, completing the transformation of the frontage.

The Result

In just five days, Mr and Mrs Weston’s property in Bromley was given a complete refresh. The new block paved driveway offers a strong, attractive and low-maintenance surface, while the new walls add character and a well-defined boundary to the space.
