Client: Mr & Mrs White
Location: Dulwich
Timescale: 5 Days
Service Provided: New Resin Bound Driveway with Black Granite Edge, New Walls and Security Post Installation
The Project
Mr and Mrs White contacted us to completely upgrade the front of their property in Dulwich. Their existing driveway and boundary features were outdated and no longer provided the level of security or visual appeal they wanted. They were looking for a modern, durable driveway solution that would enhance the appearance of their home while also improving safety and access control.
Our Recommendation
Following a full site survey, we recommended installing a resin-bound driveway finished with a striking black granite edge. Resin-bound surfacing provides a smooth, seamless and fully permeable finish, allowing rainwater to drain naturally and reducing the risk of standing water. The addition of a black granite border would frame the driveway beautifully, adding contrast and definition to the overall design.
To further enhance the frontage, we advised the construction of new walls to create structure and improve boundary definition. In addition, we recommended the installation of a security post to provide an extra level of protection against unauthorised vehicle access. As with all our installations, a full excavation and preparation of a solid Type 1 MOT hardcore sub-base was specified to ensure long-term durability and stability.
The Installation
The project began with the removal of the existing driveway surface and careful preparation of the ground. A Type 1 MOT sub-base was installed and machine-compacted in layers to create a strong and reliable foundation.
Once the groundwork was complete, we installed the black granite edging, ensuring clean lines and precise positioning to create a sharp, defined border. The resin bound surface was then laid using a UV-stable resin and aggregate mix, hand-trowelled to produce a flawless, even finish across the entire driveway.
Alongside the driveway works, we constructed the new walls, using high-quality materials and precise workmanship to achieve a neat and durable result. Finally, the security post was installed securely in position, providing added peace of mind and protecting the new driveway from unauthorised access.
The site was thoroughly cleaned and inspected before handover.
The Result
In just five days, the front of Mr and Mrs White’s home in Dulwich was transformed. The new resin-bound driveway, framed by a bold black granite edge, delivers a sleek and contemporary finish that significantly enhances the property’s kerb appeal.
The addition of new walls and a security post provides improved structure, security and functionality, creating a smart and well-protected entrance. Mr and Mrs White were delighted with the final result, which combines style, strength and long-term performance.
