The Project

Mr Jenkins contacted us to carry out a full upgrade to the front of his property in Orpington. The existing driveway and boundary features were no longer meeting his needs, and he wanted a modern, durable solution that would improve both the appearance and practicality of the space. In addition to a new driveway, he also wanted improved boundary definition through new walls and fencing.

Our Recommendation

After completing a detailed site survey, we recommended installing a resin bound driveway laid over a tarmac base, finished with granite edging for a crisp and high-quality appearance. Resin bound surfacing provides a smooth, permeable finish that allows water to drain naturally, reducing surface water and keeping the driveway looking clean and tidy.

To enhance the structure and security of the frontage, we also advised the construction of a new wall alongside new fencing. This would clearly define the boundaries, add privacy, and create a well-finished look that complements the new driveway. As with all our projects, we specified a full excavation and preparation process to ensure long-lasting strength and stability.

The Installation

Work began with the excavation of the existing driveway and the removal of all waste materials. A tarmac base was then laid and compacted to provide a strong, even foundation for the resin surface.

Once the base was complete, granite edges were installed with precision, creating a neat frame around the driveway and ensuring long-term edge stability. The resin bound surface was then applied, using a UV-stable resin and aggregate mix, hand-laid to achieve a seamless and attractive finish.

Alongside the driveway installation, we constructed the new wall and installed the fencing, ensuring both were aligned neatly and securely. These additions provided the property with improved structure, privacy, and visual appeal. The site was then fully cleaned and left tidy upon completion.
