The Project

Mr Jones contacted Crown Paving looking to replace an ageing patio that had become tired, uneven and no longer made the most of his outdoor space. Our Recommendation

Following our initial site survey, we recommended installing a new porcelain patio using high-quality paving laid on a professionally prepared foundation. Porcelain is an excellent choice for outdoor spaces thanks to its durability, low water absorption and resistance to staining, fading and the changing British weather.

To ensure a long-lasting installation, we advised removing the existing patio, preparing a new compacted sub-base and creating the correct falls for effective drainage. Careful planning of the tile layout would also allow us to achieve a clean, symmetrical finish that enhanced the overall appearance of the garden.

The Installation

Work began with the removal of the existing patio before the area was excavated and prepared for its new foundation. A robust sub-base was installed and compacted to provide a stable base, followed by a full mortar bed to support each porcelain tile.

Our team carefully laid each slab, ensuring consistent joint spacing, accurate alignment and perfectly level finishes throughout the patio. Every detail was checked as the installation progressed to achieve the high standard of workmanship that Crown Paving is known for.
